Excellent finished products don’t just happen they take a lot of serious planning and determined follow through. Location, foundation, framing, and finishing all require detailed attention even in the planning stages. When it came to building a home for our family and given the opportunity, most of us would give great diligence to assure that we got the most and the best for our money. We should be giving no less diligence when it comes to building our own personal life and the lives of our family. The least we can do is to be sure we are building right for our future, our eternal future.

There is much more to life than what we see through our natural vision. You can't see thoughts but they're there. You can't see pain but we it's there. We can't see God but deep inside we know He's there. Ps. 14:1 tells us, "Only fools say in their hearts, "There is no God." Building a right relationship with the Lord is vital for a positive and bright future. In this blog I want us to look at how to best build for the future. Just as there proper steps taken to build a house so there's correct way to build a relationship with the Lord.

Choosing the Right Contractor

Building a house from scratch is very involved procedure. There’s the basic wooden construction, electrical, plumping, heating, air-conditioning, dry walling, cabinets, flooring, siding, roofing, exterior finish, painting. Besides all this there’s the need to secure the proper building permits. The first thing in building a house is choosing the right contactor. Wisdom says, “do your homework”. A good contactor can help you choose the best blueprints and floor plan to serve your immediate and future needs. This is an area where shouldn’t be basing your decision on whose the cheapest. You need to stop and think this through. Who is best qualified to do the job?

When in comes to building our spiritual life who is more qualified than the Creator. He knows right where we are and He well aware of everything about our present state. He knows how we got where we are and what will take to get us where he wants us. There no one else worth turn to. It’s really a “no brainer” but its amazing how we as people will often times purposely avoid turning to God for help. He knows us and loves us and wants only good for us.

Psa 139:13-17 - You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother's womb. 14 Thank You for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. 15 You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. 16 You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in Your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. 17 How precious are Your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered!

Choosing the right blueprints with the correct floor plan can be quite overwhelming. Help from

From the experts or even from others who have previous gone through the experience can be

very beneficial and will help to keep you from becoming overly anxious.

When it comes to selecting the blueprint for your spiritual life that decision has already been

made for you. God knows exactly what He has purposed for your life. He’s builder and He has

the right desire already picked out.

Jer 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you," says the LORD. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

People are not born into this world with a real good understanding of God. If we knew Him as the Bible reveals Him He would never be charged with having a heart that wants to harm you and make life difficult for people. God’s heart towards you is only good continually.

Joh 3:16,17 - "For God loved the world so much that He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. 17 God sent His Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through Him.

God has given us His blueprints for our life. He has allowed us to see what He intents to build and exactly how He’s going to do it. He has given us His eternal Word. He has given us the Bible and in it we able see clearly what God is doing.

2Ti 3:16,17 - All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17 God uses it to prepare and equip His people to do every good work.

Laying A Good Foundation

Foundations are generally expensive and very time consuming. The finest structure build on a poor foundations will result in major problems down the road. To begin with all may have the appears of being secure and stable but in time the building will settle under its own weight causing the structure to shift and even sink.

We need to apply this basic building principle spiritually. In so doing we’ll save our self from a lot grief in the future. Wisdoms says, “build on solid ground”. Jesus gave us this example.

Mat 7:24-27 - "Anyone who listens to My teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. 25 Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won't collapse because it is built on bedrock. 26 But anyone who hears My teaching and doesn't obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. 27 When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash."

There is no short circuiting this! This the basics. This is where it starts and finishes for those interested in building right relationship with God. Obeying God’s Word, doing exactly what it says is equal to digging deep and laying the foundation of your life on solid rock.

1Jn 2:5 But those who obey God's word truly show how completely they love Him. That is how we know we are living in Him.

Buiding Together

As the Architect are our spiritual life God has chosen to involve us in the building process. He of the fundamentals of relationship building with the Lord is to understand that He is not a rapist. He will never force Himself upon anyone. He has given people a free will and will not violate this sovereignty. He works with us and encourages us to work with him to get the job done. Notice here God’s heart; Rev 3:20 - "Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear My voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.

This is where spiritual relationship starts. He knocks at the door of the human heart, never forcing His way in but patiently waiting for the invitation to enter. We should understand that we all have the need for the Lord to enter into our heart.

People, all people, are birthed into the human race with a “nature” that is contrary to God and His ways. Rom 3:23 - For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God's glorious standard. This where it all starts. This is the laying of the foundation. This is were we dig down and lay our foundation on the solid rock of obedience. 1Jn 3:23 - And this is His commandment: We must believe in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us. We've all been instructed by the builder of our spiritual life to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. Have you obeyed? Do you fully believe in person of the Lord Jesus Christ? Do you believe that He came from the Father to earth, that He died on the cross as a sacrifice for your sins and that He rose from the dead in total victory and that He lives today to enable and help you build a wonderful relationship with God? This is where it all starts. This is foundation laying. This is the most important part of the building process. This needs to be done right!

Progressing To Completion

God will not do anything in our life without us welcoming Him into the building process. This is how He has purposed it. He’s not building something abstract He building relationship and out of that relationship He building into us the new life nature of the Lord Jesus Christ. To allow God to proceed in building we need to be in agreement with His purposes. Amos 3:3 Can two people walk together without agreeing on the direction?

As we continue in agreement with the Lord and demonstrate of love to Him by obeying His Word then God is fully committed to completing the construction job in our life. Ph.1:6 - And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. He will get the job done.

Building a house is a process and so is the building of our spiritual life. It takes time but steadily we progress into Christlikeness. 2 Cor. - 3:18 So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like Him as we are changed into His glorious image.

Completed

One day God’s building project will be completed. In the not too distant future the Lord will return in power and great glory and will receive to Himself all those who love His appearing, those who are walking in the light of His Word. 2Tim. 4:8 And now the prize awaits me—the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of His return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to His appearing.

Yes there is reward for allowing the Lord to have His way in your life. There is reward for living in “love obedience” to the Word of God. There is reward for allowing the Lord to change and transform your life, There’s reward for living the Christian life in a way that bless both God and people. Rev. 22:12 - "Look, I am coming soon, bringing My reward with Me to repay all people according to their deeds.
